New Zealands’ trout fishing is rightly famous around the world of fishing, but too often we Kiwis get a little too blase about it. Sometimes it takes something outside our cage of complacency to rattle it.
Midcurrent has a chapter from an American book called ‘River of Dreams’ by Lani Waller; the chapter is on a day in NZ.
Lani is a seriously good writer, and reading this chapter will remind us just how good the total fishing experience is, here in NZ, it is not just about the fish. Small warning though, if you are a Kiwi wear a shirt size one up from usual while you read the chapter, your chest is going to swell a bit
